View Full Version : Paid Placement - like the movies?

One type of "linking" I have started to hear about is bloggers being paid to write a post about a website/blog/product. Certainly nothing new in the marketing world (product placements in the movies and TV for instance), but with the extra attention Google is giving to (or NOT giving to) "Sponsor" links - I am getting interesting in this method of getting quality links. The great think is - as long as the blog remains alive, it is a link for life.
Anyone getting into this type of action?

No, but I have heard of post trading schemes as well. You might want to look into that kind of deal where you don't have to shell out any $$

Good point, but I think I am more interested in one-way links. Could post trading be the next level of link exchanging?

I think one way links are way over rated now. From what I've tested having outbound links seem to make no difference to your ratings.
xiaxue.blogspot.com charges $500 to $1500 for an advertorial post at her blog. She gets 20,000+ visitors to her site a day although the main demographic is probably teenage females who live in singapore.

Spot on - perfect example. I think I might check it out - would be an interesting experiment.

Well I charged for my first advertorial about a week ago on one of my blogs.

I have been developing directory submission services and I have looked at some case studies and I have seen some good results. moving from google page 6 for a keyword to top of page 2 in less than 6 months.

There could have also been some sort of link filtered links kicking in delayed.

We are not going to do this as a business service but we know this worked because there were no other links this was done from a new site.
