Howdy, all. I've been blogging for 3 months now and I've got a small but loyal audience (150 to 200 unique visitors daily). But here's the thing:
I'm a dad blogging about staying at home with my kids (twns plus a 1st grader--all girls). And there are just under 15 gajillion people blogging about their kids. And almost all of those blogs are, shall we say, lame. They put forward stuff that would, at best, be interesting to the grandparents of the kids involved.
How do I elevate my blog above the crowd? Any ideas?

Pretty nice blog. I am new myself so really dont have the much feedback. If you want to get more traffic go to pregnancyweekly or other pregnant forums. Sometimes they want to hear from dads.

scruffy, first get listed in as many directories about blogging or whatever category you are targeting for.
Then write posts for you readers not for yourself. Invite people to comment and get involved and even leave comments.
then go read How to Attract Links and Increase Web Traffic – The Ultimate Guide (http://www.copyblogger.com/increase-web-traffic/)

Wow! Thanks for that link Ken. Looks to be some good info there. Bookmarked it for tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice, Ginene and Ken. I got lucky this past weekend. I was caught in one of those ABC PrimeTime Live hidden camera shows--a woman was pretending to drive drunk to see if anyone would intervene--and when I blogged about it, a few news affiliates picked it up. My numbers have grown substantially since then. We'll see how long it lasts.

I like it, you haven't tried to make it fancy or add cutsie crap. Keep up the good work. And even the Mums of singles loathe the stars with their 6 weeks later bodies. I may have no excuses after 7 years, but there has to be a happy medium!

That's good. Your blog is really nice. At least you know what you want to blog about. I am going to get my niche soon.
