what inspires you guys to blog. Is it things that happen in everyday life?
Is it that you get online when you're bored and read something worth further expanding on. Do you just blog more or less for yourself without really thinking about how others may view it?

I want to make this a poll and would like some suggestions to be able to get the 10 best reasons to blog on here and then make it a good and reliable survey based on the ongoing votes of the growing membership of this community.

Thank you guys and feel free to discuss!

Mike

As absurd as it sounds, I blog because I've got a blog.

What I pick for the topics though depend of the blog. For the pets blog, I do get inspired by my own dog or something I see when I'm out. Then write a post inspired by it. Alternately I'll see something in the news worth commenting on.

Actaully, that pretty much applies to all the blogs.

Oh and I've got a list of things to write about for a rainy day that gets filled up when I get too many things to write about they all get listed in a draft posting in wordpress :)

I guess I don't post to each blog each day, so the blog I drift toward that day is inspired by what I've seen and done that day. It just depends which one is most relevant...

...that answer doesn't really help a poll, does it! :)

Actually, that does make a lot of sense to me, believe it or not. A lot of web surfers didn't really start participating in the publishing part, and once they discover blogging, they are able to express themselves.

I wished they had blogs back in 2001, I would have been able to do so much back then :)
I remember having a bunch of domain names and not knowing what to do with them. Once I've learned some html, I started doing what bloggers do now, writing about stuff and publishing it. The only difference was that my pages looked horrible, until I've learned how to implement some templates.

Dang, life ain't fair. hehe

When I go on forums, I get inspired to post right away. Either I see something interesting or something really stupid to give my 2 cents to. I'm now a part of 3 group blogs as well. I guess I like the interaction. My regular blog (http://www.frogengine.com/blog) has like 5 entries made in 4 months :o

Blog software is so free form that, for me, it makes a great place to write draft material which I intend to eventually organize and put onto a more structured content website. It encourages me to write first and organize later. That's very useful.

That's a great idea - I'm using my gmail drafts for that right now :p:o
Time to change that :)
